17.40.010 Guidelines.

The purpose of the private road procedure is to provide a mechanism by which those roads that are not public may be recognized within the Borough for street addressing purposes.
A. Street names shall neither duplicate nor be subject to confusion with the spelling or the pronunciation of any existing street name in the Borough.
1. For the purpose of this chapter, a different tag name (Avenue, Court, etc.) or directional (North, East, etc.) shall not be sufficient to avoid a duplicate name.
2. When named streets have been vacated, the name may not be reused for three years from date of vacation.
B. All recognized private roads or travelways shall carry the designation “Lane.” (Ord. 2005-10 § 2, 2005. 2004 Code § 17.40.090.)
