A. Any person who checks out library property, whether for themselves or another, is hereby presumed to be in possession of said property until said property is returned to the library. No person shall wilfully retain possession of library property more than 15 days after being notified that such property is overdue. Notification will be sent to the person who checked out said property.

B. Any person who fails to return any library property within 15 days of receipt of the notice provided herein is liable for the cost of replacing said property, and may, at the discretion of the Library Director, have their borrowing privileges revoked until said property is either returned or paid for. Any person who destroys or causes to be destroyed, whether negligently or intentionally, any library property in their possession is liable for the cost of replacing said property, and may, at the discretion of the Library Director, have their borrowing privileges revoked until said property is paid for.

C. A person who is convicted of a violation of this section is guilty of a violation punishable by a fine as set forth at Chapter 1.20 FNSBC. (Ord. 2019-16 § 21, 2019; Ord. 2019-09 § 2, 2019; Ord. 2013-65 § 20, 2013; Ord. 90-047 § 2, 1990. 2004 Code § 9.12.020.)
