A. The term of office for the Borough Mayor and Assemblymember is three years or until a successor is elected and qualified. Service is to begin on the first Monday following certification of the election.

B. The term of office for the Interior Alaska Natural Gas Utility (IGU) board member is three years or until a successor is elected and qualified, unless otherwise provided in this subsection. Service is to begin on the first Monday following certification of the election; provided, that the term of a member currently holding office on the effective date of this subsection is not affected.

C. A person who has served two full successive terms as Mayor, Assemblymember or as an IGU at-large board member may not be reelected to that elective office or body until one full year has intervened.
